A video signal voltage is successively input in each pixel circuit, after threshold correction operation completion, and emission of the luminance corresponding to the input video signal voltage is performed. A drive transistor of each pixel circuit is given a prescribed hold voltage which is lower than the drive voltage during waiting time up, to input start of the video signal voltage from end timing of threshold correction operation in each pixel circuit. Accordingly, the display suppresses leakage current in the waiting time, and influence of the leakage current becomes equivalent inside each pixel circuit of the inside of the unit.
