Abstract:

PURPOSE: To extend the diffusion range of electron beam to prevent the emission error of a phosphor screen and improve quality and reliability by protruding the electron passing grid mesh part of a grid electrode forming a cathode body structure toward the phosphor screen direction.

CONSTITUTION: A grid electrode 146 forming a cathode body structure 14A has an electron passing grid mesh part 146A integrally formed into a doom semi-elliptically protruded toward a phosphor screen 5 arranged in the arrowed direction A. Since the diffusion angle of the electron beam emitted from the mesh part 146A to the phosphor screen is thus extended, the electron beam is emitted to almost the whole surface of the phosphor screen.
