Abstract:
In order to reduce the cost and weight of artificial nails, an artificial nail 1 is provided that comprises: a thin film transparent electrode (ITO) formed as a common electrode layer 13 on the lower surface of a transparent main body 11 machined in a nail shape; and a display sheet 12 machined in a shape following the lower surface of the main body 11 and fixed to the main body 11 such that the upper surface thereof is covered by the common electrode layer 13 and the lower surface thereof is exposed. The common electrode layer 13 constitutes a common electrode 102 in electronic paper and the display sheet 12 constitutes a display layer 101 for the electronic paper. In an overwriting device 3: an elastic film 308, having fixed thereto a driver layer sheet 310 that functions as a driver layer 103 for the electronic paper, is sucked in; the driver layer sheet 310 is caused to be closely adhered to the display sheet 12 for the artificial nail 1 set in the overwriting device 3; the electronic paper is constituted by the common electrode layer 13, the display sheet 12, and the driver layer sheet 310; and the display sheet 12 is displayed and display contents are changed.
