To provide a distillation tower type production method by which the objective compound is obtained in high selectivity and high yield with improved volume efficiency by feeding a raw compound to a distillation tower part of the reactor having the distillation tower, reacting while refluxing the fed raw compound and continuously discharging the objective compound from the lower part of the reactor.
The objective compound of formula III is obtained, for example, by continuously feeding an unsaturated compound containing fluorine of formula I (Rf is a 1-20C monovalent organic group containing fluorine; Q is a single bond or a divalent coupling group), e.g. CF3CF2CH=CH2, a hydroxy compound of formula II (R1 and R2 are each H or a 1-5C alkyl), e.g. methanol and a radical initiator, e.g. 1,1-bis(t-butylperoxy)-3,3,5-trimethylcyclohexane to a distillation tower part of a reactor having the distillation tower, reacting the raw materials while refluxing them and continuously discharging the hydroxy compound containing the fluorine of formula III from the lower part of the reactor. The retention time of the unsaturated compound containing fluorine in the distillation tower part is preferably 1-60min.
