To provide a distortion pre-compensator for compensating the optional non-linearity of a trailing amplifier by controlling gain and a phase independently and also to provide a linear amplifier using the compensator.

The distortion pre-compensator is provided with a first FET (305) having a source, a drain and a gate, resonant circuits (303 and 304) connected to the drain and the source of the first FET, a first inductor (315) connected to the gate of the first FET, a bias circuit (204) which is connected to the other end of the first inductor and impresses a bias determined based on a first control voltage (Vc) on the gate and a variable impedance network (205) which is connected to the other end of the first inductor and provides impedance determined based on a second control voltage (Vc1) to the first FET.
