Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a distributing type fuel injection pump which provides more constant and stable fuel injection amount.
CONSTITUTION: A distribution passage 16 which communicates with each cylinder of an internal combustion engine is formed in a cylinder 6. A distribution port 26 is formed by a first groove 261 which is extended in the peripheral direction of a distribution rotor 13 in the distribution rotor 13 which rotates in the cylinder 6. The shape of a bottom face 261a of the first groove 261 is circular arc which has the center on an axis of the distribution rotor 13. When the distribution rotor 13 rotates, the distribution port 26 is communicated with the distribution passage 16, and fuel which is pressurized by a plunger is fed under pressure from the distribution port 26 to the distribution passage 16. Although the peripheral direction position of the distribution port 26 which is communicated with the distribution passage 16 when fuel is fed under pressure differs depending on timer position, the fluctuation of discharge passage area during the communication of the distribution port 26 with the distribution passage 16 is small because the bottom face 261a of the first groove 261 is formed into the circular arc shape, and constant and stable fuel injection amount can be obtained.
