Abstract:

To prevent the occurrence of a seizure and fixing due to an increase in bearing occasioned by high pressure injection by a thrust washer disposed between a side of a feed pump and the flange surface of a drive shaft.

When fuel is discharged in a pump chamber 2 from a feed pump 5 of a distribution type fuel injection pump 1, a part of fuel is discharged in a groove part and a fuel introduction hole formed in the thrust washer 45 from a fuel discharge passage 51b of a feed pump cover 51 forming the side on the pump chamber 2 side of the feed pump 5. This constitution forcibly lubricates the two surfaces of the thrust washer 45 by fuel, and achieves reduction of slide friction between the two surfaces, one of which is a side 51a on the pump chamber 2 side of the feed pump cover 51 and the other of which is a flange surface 4a of the drive shaft, prevents the occurrence of the seizure and sticking, and improves reliability on the distribution type fuel injection pump 1.
