PURPOSE: To provide a distributor type fuel injection pump having high fuel injection efficiency without increasing the dead volume of a force feed system of an injection pump.
CONSTITUTION: A fuel passage 28 communicates a suction port 25 and a plunger chamber 21 with each other, and a fuel passage 29 communicates the suction port 25 and a distributing port 26 with each other. The fuel passages 28 and 29 are communicated with each other by an outer peripheral wall of a distributing rotor 13 through the suction port 25. Since a fuel passage in the distributing rotor 13 is only the fuel passages 28 and 29, the dead volume of a force feed system is reduced, and prescribed fuel injection pressure can be held. When the suction port 25 is communicated with a suction passage 15, since fuel can be supplied to the fuel passage 28 and the fuel passage 29 through the suction port 25 from the suction passage 15 by branching off without interfering with each other, a sufficient quantity of fuel can be filled in the plunger chamber 21 without disturbing suction of fuel in the plunger chamber 21 by inertial force of overflowing fuel.
