Abstract:

PURPOSE: To produce a composition useful as a catalyst and a catalyst precursor, etc. for a catalytic dehydrogenating polymerization of tetrahydroquinoline by mixing a waste soln. of tetrathioperrhenate and specified disulfide.

CONSTITUTION: A composition expressed by the formula (L2Re(μ-S))2 is produced by mixing for a sufficient time the waste soln. of the tetrathioperrhenate and the disulfide giving 1,1-dithirate ligand by reduction. In the formula, L is a dithioacid ligand which may be dithiocarbamic acid, xanthogenic acid, dithiophosphoric acid, dithiophosphinic acid or other similar ligand and μ denotes the fact that sulfur atoms in a core of a complex bridge two rhenium atoms in the complex. Generally, the reaction is executed at room temp. and a pressure. The reaction is executed under an inert atmosphere preferably.
