To reduce the difference of colors due to the individual difference of a filter and a light source in a projector device using a DMD panel.
A DMD projector is provided with an optical sensor provided on a position where the reflected light is to be made incident when a mirror element is in an OFF state and a correction part for inputting video signals and a voltage obtained by the optical sensor and outputting corrected video signals to a driving part. The driving part controls the inclination state of the respective mirror elements of the DMD panel corresponding to the corrected video signals and the rotation state of a color wheel. The correction part obtains the relative intensity of light passing through the respective filters constituting the color wheel by the output of the optical sensor when the respective mirror elements of the DMD panel are turned to a fixed state, corrects luminance signals for the respective colors of the video signals and outputs them to the driving part.
