Abstract:

To obtain a polynucleotide molecule containing a nucleotide sequence coding for a Streptococcus uberis-originated plasminogen activation (PauA) protein, a substantially homologous polypeptide, peptide fragments and a fusion protein, provide a composition and a method for recombinantly expressing the PauA protein coded by the polynucleotide molecule, the homologous polypeptide, the peptide fragments and the fusion protein and provide a vaccine for protecting mammalian constituent species from mastititis, containing the substantially homologous polypeptide, the peptide fragments, the fusion proteins or the polynucleotide molecule of the invention.

For example, the polynucleotide molecule is an isolated molecule containing a nucleotide sequence coding for a protein containing amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO:2 from 26-286 amino acid positions.
