To correct unevenness in butting by holding a doctor blade via a doctor backing plate between an upper and a lower holders, and providing an adjustment screw as a pushing means for the doctor blade and the doctor backing plate at a holder part at the side of the doctor backing plate.

The doctor apparatus has a doctor holder 15 with slits formed inside of an upper and a lower holders 15a, 15b, and an optional count of adjustment screws 19 as a pushing means which hold a doctor backing plate 12 and a doctor blade 11 in the slits and press from above thereby adjusting the doctor backing plate 12 and doctor blade 11. When a cylinder 10 warps from both end parts to a central part, an edge of the doctor blade 11 is bent or warped by the adjustment screws 19 partly to correspond to the warp, so that the edge comes in tight adhesion to the warped part of the cylinder 10. Accordingly the edge of the doctor blade 11 can be uniformly butted to the whole area of the cylinder.
