To provide a doctor blade which is excellent in plate rigidity important for doctor performance, in followingness to a counter roll, and in roll contact portion abrasion resistance important for production efficiency in a paper machine, and little damages the surface of the counter roll.

The doctor blade produced from a fiber-reinforced plastic prepared by impregnating reinforcing fibers with a matrix resin is characterized in that the reinforcing fibers in the outermost layer on a counter roll-contacting side is a woven fabric, and the maximum height of surface roughness is 2 to 8 μm.
