PURPOSE: To facilitate switching of discharge destination of document in a document carrier device provided with plural document discharge parts.

CONSTITUTION: A switching means provided with a bar-shaped branching claw 25a of a streamline shape when viewed from the side and a knob 25b for operating the branching claw 25a is mounted on the body of this carrier device so that the end of the branching claw 25a may be moved vertically by the knob 25b with an engement part with which with which two rollers of a pair of discharge rollers 11 are brought into contabeing as a boundary. When the end of the branch claw 25a is above the engagement part, documents are discharged by the pair of discharge rollers 11, and when they are below it, a carrier passage is switched so as to discharge them with a pair of reversing rollers 24.
