The ADF 15 is equipped with a document table 8, a roller 10, a separation roller 12, a 1st pressure roller 13, a drive roller 16, paper discharge rollers 17 and 22, a 2nd pressure roller 19, a stop roller 21, and a conveying member 23; and the drive roller 16 is arranged above slit glass 7 and the respective pressure rollers 13 and 19 are arranged separately on the upstream and downstream sides of the slit glass to form a conveyance path (inverting path) which is in a U shape on the whole.
