Abstract:
To detect whether or not a document is correctly set on a table at high speed in a document image pickup unit that reads the document.
In the document image pickup unit where a CCD camera that picks up a two-dimensional area picks up the image of a document, the surface of the table 2 on which the document picked up by the CCD camera 1 is set is colored in different color from that of the picked-up document so as to discriminate the edges of the document from the table.
