In the document information processing apparatus provided with a document storage means and a storage document transmission control means for encrypting a transmission object document file being a document file designated as a transmission object among document files stored in the document storage means by an encryption password designated as required and transmitting the encrypted document to other apparatus, the storage document transmission control means is characterized in that when a browsing password established corresponding to the transmission object document file as the encryption password on transmission is designated, the storage document transmission control means adopts the browsing password as the encryption password on transmission to encrypt the transmission object document file and transmits the encrypted transmission object document file to the other apparatus.
