CONSTITUTION: The system is provided with an input means 11 inputting character strings and inputting a given area including the character strings and character string editing information, a sentence storage means 12 storing the inputted character strings, an editing information storage means 13 storing the inputted editing information, a display means 15, and a control means 14 editing the character strings inputted in the area based on the editorial information at its display on the display means 15. When character strings are inputted and a given area including character strings and character string editing information are specified, the control means 14 subtracts the length of character string based on the specified area length, editing character strings so that a character space corresponding to a subtraction value be generated in the specified area.
