A system control part in a client terminal device displays a message and sets document presence location information indicating the presence location of a document file to be registered and registration destination information (S1), acquires the set document presence location information and registration destination information from a RAM, etc., where they are stored immediately, a prescribed time later, or at a prescribed time according to a user's indication (S2), and reads document data of all documents in the document presence location that the acquired document presence location information indicates in order, transmits them to a document management server together with a file name given when they are filed and the registration destination information, and registers them at the registration destination that the registration information indicates (S3).
