Abstract:
To provide a dog clutch capable of improving engagement efficiency and further reducing backlash after engagement while improving an impact absorption effect during dog engagement.SOLUTION: A dog clutch D comprises: a relay member 4 which is supported on a rotary shaft 3 in an axially movable and relatively non-rotatable manner; a first transmission body 1 which is rotatable in relative to the rotary shaft 3; a second transmission body 2 which is rotatable in relative to the first transmission body 1; and an elastic member 6 capable of holding a higher dog 2d of the second transmission body 2 at a predetermined position between adjacent lower dogs 1d and 1d of the first transmission body. In the process of making the relay member 4 close to the first and second transmission bodies 1 and 2 in a relatively rotational state of the first transmission body 1 and the rotary shaft 3, when the higher dog 2d which is engaged to an engagement dog 4d earlier than the lower dog 1d is engaged to one lower dog 1d between the adjacent lower dogs 1d and 1d against the elastic member 6, a circumferential clearance gap 20 in which the engagement dog 4d is capable of rushing is formed between the other lower dog 1d and the higher dog 2d.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
