Abstract:
To provide a reverse-tapered dog clutch in which a gap between tooth surfaces of dog teeth at the time of engagement is reduced.SOLUTION: Dog teeth 41 of a gear 40, and first dog teeth 12 of a first dog ring 10 and second teeth 23 of a second dog ring 20, which are engaged with the dog teeth of the gear, are reversely tapered. When the first and second dog rings 10, 20 are engaged with the gear 40, the dog teeth 41 come into contact with the first dog teeth 12 and push the same to rotate the first dog ring 10 relatively to the second dog ring 20. With this, a dog ring side tooth tip thickness t of the first and second dog rings 10, 20 is reduced and can be engaged with the dog teeth 41. When the engagement is completed, by the action of a cam mechanism 60 and tension springs 72, the first dog ring 10 and the second dog ring 20 are rotated to return to original neutral positions, the dog ring side tooth tip thickness t is increased, and a gap between the tooth surfaces of the dog teeth is reduced.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
