To simplify maintenance for a domestic steam ironing device by selecting the rotating direction of an axial flow blower and controlling the rotation to select and control the generation of negative pressure and positive pressure.

A blower 3 is fitted to a table 10 which has a chamber 12 communicated with the blower 3 and plural holes 11 communicated with the chamber. Blast of the blower 13 is communicated with the surface of the table 10 through the chamber 12 and the holes 11. A steam iron is connected to the blower 3 and the steam rach point by a flexible power cable 5. If a user presses a control part longer than about 1/2 second, for example, the blower 3 operates in the direction of sucking action. On the contrary, if it is pressed shorter than the above time, it is rotated in the direction of blowing action. A timer circuit for operating the blower 3 further for three to four seconds after the last pressing operation is provided, whereby if the user presses the control device during the above time, the motion of the blower 3 can be prolonged regardless of the length of the pressing time.
