PURPOSE: To hold an adhesive on a projection part, and to thereby maintain a fixed position for applying the adhesive, to eliminate failure in adhesion by providing the projection part protruded to the side of an outer panel, on the lower end part of a reinforcing member, which is fixed to the outer panel by the adhesive.

CONSTITUTION: A reinforcing member 14 is mounted directly under the window part in an outer panel 12 of the door of an automobile. The upper end part 14b of the reinforcing member 14 is spot-welded to the outer panel 12, while the lower end part 14a is fixed to the outer panel 12 by an adhesive 17. A plurality of projection parts 16 protruded to the side of the outer panel 12 are provided on the lower end part 14a of the reinforcing member 14. Each projection part 16 comprises a step part for which the lower end part 14a of the reinforcing member 14 is bent toward the side of the inner panel 12. The adhesive 17 is held on the upper surface of each projection part 16, while a fixed position for applying the adhesive 17 is maintained, to eliminate failure in adhesion.
