A controller 30 transmits an output of an electric motor 41 to a latch mechanism 10 by driving the electric motor 41 on the basis of the detection of the half-closed state of the vehicle door, and makes the vehicle door operated to be closed to the fully-closed state from the half-closed state by putting the latch mechanism 10 in a half-latched state into a fully-latched state. The controller 30 increases the output of the electric motor 41 in a phased manner on the basis of an elapsed time from a shift of the vehicle door to the half-closed state.
