Title:
DOOR GUARD BAR FOR AUTOMOBILE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH01240322
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To reduce parts and spot-welding in number, and thereby contrive an reduction in weight and the like by forming a guard bar main body provided with reinforcing beads in such a way that the center peripheral section of it in the longitudinal section of a car body is made thicker than the front and rear peripheral section of it. CONSTITUTION:A door guard bar 10 is composed of a reinforcing member 11 and of a guard main body 12. In this case, the upper and lower ends 11a of the reinforcing member 11 are bent toward the side of a oar body so as to let a guard main body 12 be spot-welded onto the projected surface of the member so that the front and rear sections 11c of the member are firmly fixed on a side door. On the other hand, the guard bar main body 12 is formed with a smooth connecting surface against the reinforcing member 11 by forming a rectangular panel with a press, and the back of the connecting surface is concurrently formed into a reinforcing surface F2. And in the rectangular panel, the thickness T1 of the ridge S1 at the center section and the peripheral section of it is set to be greater than the thickness T2 of the both end sections of it. In addition, the guard bar main body 12 allows numbers of reinforcing beads 14 to be projected while being extended in the longer direction.
