Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To check intrusion of dust into a vehicle, when closing a door, in a door latch device for the vehicle.SOLUTION: The door latch device for the vehicle comprises: an engagement casing 7 fixed to an inner panel 3 in a form of projecting more on the outside from the inner panel 3 by being inserted from the inside of a door D into an opening part 311 for fitting provided to the inner panel 3 in the door D and supporting an engagement mechanism capable of engaging with a striker 10 on the vehicle body B side at a closing position of the door D; and an operation casing 14 connected to the engagement casing 7, arranged in the door D and supporting an operation component. In the door latch device for the vehicle, a dust cover 23 is provided in the door D for blocking up a clearance C caused between the engagement casing 7 and the opening part 311 for fitting.
