PURPOSE: To obtain a higher reliability and a larger power gain by transmitting a dispersed pulse of electromagnetic radiation to a scattering factor to generate a signal received in the return thereof.
CONSTITUTION: A return signal from a target to an antenna 18b is coupled to a digital signal processor(DSP) 68 from an analog/digital converter(ADC) and a buffer 62. An amplitude output processed at a sum channel is also compared with a detection threshold level by the DSP 68 and the results are inputted into a digitized radar detection report(DRDR) to be transmitted to a detection processor(DP) 72, which 72 receives a DRDR report from the DPS 68 and values of the digitized sum and difference are processed to estimate a correction value of a single pulse, which is added to an angular coordinate of beam to calculate the position of the angle of the detected target. The DP 72 also calculates the distance and a range speed of the detected target and the data thus processed are made to belong to the DRDR and a report obtained as a result is sent to a radar control computer(RCC) 78.
