Abstract:
PURPOSE: To facilitate the holding of a succeeding strip in a state before a revolution, to enable the starting of a line immediately upon completion of welding in a state before a revolution, and to shorten time for switching a coil by arranging a support roll for guiding a trailing coil that is uncoiled on a revolving drum from an uncoiling shaft.
CONSTITUTION: A stable pass is made possible without coming into contact with a pinch roll 10 or a preceding strip 5a, in the case of guiding the tip end of a succeeding strip 4a into a welder 12, by providing a support roll 6, 7 on a revolving drum 1; and also the strip 4a is stably supported until the start of welding. In addition, since this support roll 6, 7 plays a role of a deflector roll, the succeeding strip 4a is immediately made to run after joined with the preceding strip 5a even before the revolution; and simultaneously, the disposal of the remaining material of the preceding strip 5a can be performed in line by using a crop processing device 14 without hindrance to the operation of the succeeding strip 4.
