To provide a double-cylinder type shock absorber facilitating assembling work, reducing weight, reducing an environmental load, and formable in a small diameter, with relation to an improvement of the double-cylinder type shock absorber.
This double-cylinder type shock absorber includes a cylinder 1 for storing a working fluid, a piston 2 slidably inserted into the cylinder 1 and partitioning two action chambers A and B in the cylinder 1, a rod 3 for holding this piston 2, an outer cylinder 4 for covering the cylinder 1 and forming a reservoir chamber R between the cylinder 1 and itself, and damping force generating means (V1 and V2) for generating predetermined damping force when sliding the piston 2. The double-cylinder type shock absorber further includes a cross-linking member 5 for connecting the cylinder 1 and the outer cylinder 4, and the cylinder 1, the outer cylinder 4 and the cross-linking member 5 are integrally formed of a synthetic resin.
