PURPOSE: To separate and recover nonferrous metal among various wastes by vertically using two pieces of turning excitation drums or using a ferromagnetic drum to the upper part and using a rotary excitation drum to the lower part.
CONSTITUTION: A rotary excitation drum is constituted of a permanent magnet band 1, a ferromagnetic shaft 2 and a nonmagnetic cylinder 3 and rotated at high velocity by a motor 10 via a V belt 8. A nonconductive outer cylinder 4 pairs with a pulley 6 in the outside of the rotary excitation drum and forms a conveyor together with a carrier belt 5 and is rotated by a motor 9 and a chain 7. Another rotary excitation drum having a thoroughly same structure is arranged just above this rotary excitation drum. Gap of 30-70mm is provided between two pieces of rotary excitation drums. The vertical two rotary excitation drums are synchronized and rotated in a position wherein N, S of the magnet band of the inside pull against each other. Therefore the need for a driving mechanism is eliminated in the rotary excitation drum of the upper part. Thereby nonferrous metal is easily separated.
