PURPOSE: To reduce installation spaces, to obviate occurrences of thermal stresses, and to provide sufficient strength even in the case of a strong wind which causes lateral vibration.
CONSTITUTION: An internal tube 14 is extended through an NG outlet header tank 2 provided at the upper end and an LNG inlet header tank 4 is disposed above the tank 2, and liquefied natural gas is fed into the tube 14 through the header tank 2 so that vaporized gas is caused to flow from the lower end of the tube 14 upwardly through the annular passage in an external tube 11, in a U-shaped flow pattern, whereby pressure losses in the tube increases so that the flow of gas is stabilized, and freezing on a heat-exchanging surface is reduced. And the header tanks 2, 4 are disposed in the axial direction of heat-exchanging tube to improve economy of space and further the lower end of the tube 11 is extended to provide a notch 13 on the extended portion 12 thereof so that a guide plate is slidably inserted into the notch 13, whereby the tube 11 is made free in the axial direction thereof, thereby preventing thermal stress from being generated, and vibration or lateral shaking of a heat exchange panel can be avoided even in the case of an earthquake or strong wind such as typhoon.
