To provide a double-sided document reading device capable of accelerating a response to an operation to suspend reading while adjusting directions of front and back faces of the document delivered from a paper discharge port when the operation to suspend reading is performed during the reading of a document image of the back face of a document.

While a document 100 is first conveyed on the second conveyance path 24 in order to reverse front and back faces of the document 100 in which the document image of the front face is read, when an operation to suspend the reading of the document 100 is received, a conveying direction of the document in the second conveyance path 24 is reversed into a direction which returns the document to a paper discharge port 250 as shown by a dashed-line of an arrow with a blank inside so that the document is delivered in a face-down manner.
