Title:
MUSE/NTSC DOWN-CONVERTER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH03284095
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To simplify the interconnection between devices by providing a signal selection circuit selecting an output of an encoder at the reception of a MUSE signal and an output of a de-emphasis circuit at the reception of an NTSC signal and outputting the selected output.

CONSTITUTION: An NTSC composite video signal demodulated from a BS-IF signal in a BS tuner is inputted to an input terminal A at reception of an NTSC signal, de-emphasized at a de-emphasis circuit 16 and outputted to a terminal B via a signal selection circuit 15'. Moreover, a demodulated MUSE signal is inputted to the input terminal A at the reception of a MUSE signal and processed and converted into an NTSC composite video signal (a) via an NTSC encoder 14 in the circuit stage after an A/D converter 1 and outputted to the terminal B via the circuit 15'. Thus, the interconnection between devices is simplified even at the reception of both the MUSE signal and the NTSC signal.
