PURPOSE: To prevent erroneous detection by installing a bad-road detecting means for detecting the sharp uneveness of the road surface and intercepting the detection of dozing-drive when bad road is detected, in the captioned apparatus for detecting dozing-drive, based on the steering operation.
CONSTITUTION: A steering-angle sensor 1 is constituted of photointerrupters 19-1 and 19-2 and a disc 18 which revolves, interlocked with steering operation and an which holes 14' are formed at a certain intervals along the outer peripheral edge, and the output of the angle sensor 1 is input into the CPU9 of a dozing- drive detecting means 5, and the steering direction is discriminated, and a dozing-drive judging threshold value Nr which is determined from the number of steering pulses is obtained. The output of a car-speed sensor 3 is input into the CPU9, and when the car-speed reaches a set car-speed (e.g., 70Km/h), dozing- drive detecting processing is started. If the number N of steering pulses input during a certain time is a certain value N1 or more, it is judged that the car drives on a bad road, and the dozing-drive detecting processing is intercepted for a certain time.
