To provide a simple constitution of a drafting apparatus for positioning and supporting a plurality of draft rollers and facilitating a gauge changing work including a position adjustment of a spring for applying a nipping force to the draft roller.

The drafting apparatus includes a cradle 20, a roller-supporting structure 31, a roller shaft 51 and a pair of top rollers 14, 14x. The roller-supporting structure 31 is provided with a shaft-supporting frame 61, a pressing spring 64 and a spring-holding frame 63. The shaft-supporting frame 61 supports the roller shaft 51. The pressing spring 64 applies a spring force to press the top roller pair 14, 14x to the longitudinal middle part of the roller shaft 51. The pressing spring 64 is attached to the spring-holding frame 63. The roller-supporting structure 31 is fixed to the cradle 20 through a long hole 81 to enable change of the attaching position to the cradle 20.
