To provide a draining device for a heat exchange unit for use in a heat pump type water heater capable of draining drain water to the outside without impairing appearance of the heat exchange unit.
The draining device is divided into an upper part and a lower part by an intermediate base 9, and it is provided with a hot water heat exchanger 10 arranged in a lower part side of the intermediate base 9, and an air heat exchanger 11 and a compressor 13 arranged in an upper part side of the intermediate base 9. It is provided with a draining part 24 protrudedly provided on a back face of the intermediate base 9 with the same bottom face as the intermediate base 9, and having a draining hole 5 on its bottom face, and a drain socket connected to a drain hose extended to the outside is detachably attached to the draining part 24.
