In the drawer type dish washer 10 is provided with: a box-like main body 12 with an open front part; a box-like washing tub 20 with an open top which can be pulled out from the main body 12; and the drain pump 54 for washing water fixed to the washing tub 20. A flange 48a facing upward is provided at the front part of the bottom plate 12a of the main body 12, and a part or the whole of the flange 48a is retreated backward from the front end of the main body 12 to form a retreating area in front of the flange 48a. The drain pump 54 is at least partially positioned in the retreating area in a state where the washing tub 20 is housed in the main body, and the lower end of the pump 54 is lower than the upper edge of the flange 48a.
