Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To sufficiently secure the superposed part of film folded into the underside of an article to be packaged regardless of the size of the article and prevent the film from sticking to the outside of the article, by selectively actuating an auxiliary drawing means in accordance with the size of the article.
SOLUTION: The distance L between the sending-out end E1 of an article 22 to be packaged and a cutting position E2 of film is set on the basis of not the maximum article size but the middle article size. Stretch film 12 is drawn to the packaging position by use of a drawing body 20, for articles smaller than the middle size and the drawing body 20 is transferred to the longest transferable position and the film 12 is superfluously drawn out of a base roll 10 by the action of a drawing roller 62, for articles larger than the middle size. Accordingly, even if the article size is smaller or larger than the middle size, the initial purpose can be achieved.
