Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate usual inconvenience due to the absence of a simple device which draws singly a part or the whole of a circle, an ellipse, a hyperbola or a parabola.
SOLUTION: Loose connection being used, members are made movable without obstructing each other. When an auxiliary rod 6 moves as an extension- contraction guiding implement 2 moves along a groove in the upper part of a basic rod 1, conducting the extension and contraction of this rod, a rotating rod 4 and a drawing rod 5 rotate respectively, in linkage to the movement of the auxiliary rod, around a rotating rod support 7 and a drawing rod support 8 fitted to the lower part of the basic rod 1. In the part of the point of intersection of the respective grooves of the rotating rod and the drawing rod, a sliding body 12 is disposed and this sliding body is made to draw a desired quadric curve.
