To provide a method for producing drawn aramid filaments without necessitating a high precision and high leveled apparatus by a simple means and to produce an aramid nonwoven fabric from filaments which is conventionally obtained from staple fiber.

The invention relates to the method for producing drawn aramid filaments comprising drawing aramid filaments by heating them with infrared light beam under ≤30 MPa of tension per single filament to ≥4 of drawing ratio to obtain fine filaments with ≤12 μm of diameter with high molecular orientation, and the aramid filament nonwoven fabric is obtained by accumulating the drawn aramid filaments on a conveyer.
