PURPOSE: To use effectively waste of bottle gourd and to obtain a food or a feed for domestic animals inexpensively, by flouring part of pulpish material of bottle gourd which is prepared as a by-product during production of dried gourd shavings and abandoned, processing the flour into a food or grinding roughly into a feed for domestic animals, etc.

CONSTITUTION: Blue peel of epidermis of fruit of bottle ground is rinded, white rinded druit is prepared, the peel part at the upper part of it is shaved into a beltlike state, and dried to give dried gourd shavings. In the operation, part of material in the interior of the fruit containing seed, so-called pulp, has been abandoned, but this part contains more various kinds of components than dried gourd shavings, it has especially 7.3mg% iron in 100g, about 2.5 times as much as dried gourd shavings, so that the part of pulpish material is roughly ground and processed to give an easily edible feed for domestic animals or for chicken raising. Or, the part of pulpish material can be floured and processed into a food.
