To provide a dryer configured to suck no coolant having a high concentration as much as possible, when the coolant (for example, CO2 coolant) is leaked from a coolant circuit of the dryer.
In the dryer, air from a storage tub (2) is cooled and dehumidified by a heat absorber (22), and the dehumidified air is heated by a radiator (23) and returned to the storage tub for circulation, so that an object to be dried is dried. The dryer is provided with a door (6) for taking out or putting in the object to be dried from or into the storage tub, a door locking device (8) for locking the door at a closed position, and coolant leakage detecting means (9, 10, 24) for detecting the leakage of the coolant from the coolant circuit. When the leakage of the coolant from the coolant circuit is detected by the coolant leakage detecting means, the door is locked by the door locking device.
