Title:
DRIFT ICE REMOVING DEVICE FOR OCEAN STRUCTURE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5744017
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To melt drift ice, by a method wherein, in the subject device, such as submarine oil well excavating equipment operated in icy waters, the seawater, sucked- in and discharged by means of a pump, is caused to jet out into seawater through a nozzle.

CONSTITUTION: Conductor guide pipes 4, through which each conductor pipe 5 is inserted, are placed below a platform and between an upper support base plate 6 and a lower support base plate 7 under the surface of the sea, both support plates for guide pipe being secured to a stay 2. A plurality of seawater cycling nozzles 3 are placed at the lower support base plate 7, and one end of a flexible hose 9 is connected thereto to connect it to a pump 11 hung down by means of a chain 10. Comparatively warm seawater under the surface of the sea is pumped up by means of a pump 11, and is jetted out upward from the nozzles 8, which results in melting drift ice.
