Abstract:

To provide a drilling tool for a hard and brittle material that can prevent flaking and chipping during work penetration in a drilling operation, even for work shaped into a pipe, a curved surface or the like in which a reinforcing plate is difficult to apply to the backside.

The drilling tool for a hard and brittle material comprises a shank body and cylindrical grinding wheel arranged at the tip of the shank body. The grinding wheel has a continuously saw-toothed tip. The grinding wheel, alternatively, has a plurality of holes, and a plurality of recesses at the tip. At least the holes cut in the grinding wheel out of the holes cut in the grinding wheel and the recesses cut at the grinding wheel tip may be filled with an abrasive material. The grinding wheel, alternatively, has a thin-walled tip, which has a taper portion whose periphery tapers to the tip.
