Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the power consumption of amplifying circuits of drive circuit equipped with the amplifying circuits for applying large-amplitude voltage signals to capacitive loads.
SOLUTION: Voltage waveforms Vout and Vout', which are amplified by 1st and 2nd amplifying circuits Q2 and Q3, and Q2' and Q3' and vary with opposite phase relation to each other are applied to 1st and 2nd capacitive loads C and C'. This circuit is provided with 1st and 2nd emitter follower circuits Q1 and Q1', which convert the voltage Vcc supplied form the power source of the driving circuit into voltages specific voltages E1 and E1' higher than the output voltages Vout and Vout' of the 1st and 2nd amplifying circuits and a switch circuit using diodes D1 and D2 (D1' and D2') which automatically switch and connect the power supply end of the 1st (2nd) amplifying circuit to one of the output of the emitter follower circuit Q1 (Q1') or the 2nd (1st) capacitive load C (C'). Then the electric power of the amplifying circuit connected to one capacitive load whose voltage is being rised is supplied in periods t1 and T3 with electric charges of the other capacitive load whose voltage is being lowered.
