To realize a configuration capable of setting an optimum lead angle value at low cost in a simple manner, in such a configuration that the rotation of a rotor is controlled, based not on a current value but on the rotational position of the rotor.
The drive circuit for a motor includes a rotational position detecting part (position detecting element 14) for detecting the rotational position of a rotor which is rotatably provided to a stator; a lead angle control part (lead angle signal generating part 25 and lead angle input voltage adjusting part 31) for generating a lead angle signal which corrects the phase of a current flowing on the stator; and an output signal generating part (timing control part 23) which generates an output signal (charging signal) for driving a motor, based on the rotational position detected by the rotational position detecting part, the control signal (speed command voltage Vsp) for controlling a rotational speed of the rotor, and the lead signal. The lead angle control part is so configured as to set the lead angle signal, according to the control signal.
