To provide a drive control unit for an opening and closing body of a vehicle which can prevent pinching by surely detecting an object brought into continuous contact with a touch sensor from a stage before the start of a closing operation.
This drive control unit for the opening and closing body of the vehicle comprises: the opening and closing body 3 for opening and closing an opening 2 of a vehicle body 1; a driving means 7; a touch sensor 12 which is provided at the end of the opening and closing body; an operation input means 28 for generating an opening or closing command signal; a contact determination section 39 which determines whether or not a touch sensor output value falls within a first predetermined range after the generation of the closing command signal; and a drive control section 32 which makes the opening and closing body operate for opening and closing on the basis of the opening or closing command signal, and makes the opening and closing body stop or operate for opening on the basis of the result of determination by the contact determination section. The contact determination section performs the determination in such a manner that a first range is switched to a second range narrower than the first range until a lapse of a predetermined period of time from the generation of the closing command signal.
