Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drive device capable of surely detecting a failure in an open/close element, and also to provide a converter unit equipped with the drive device.SOLUTION: A drive device includes a plurality of open/close elements connected in series. The drive device includes: a control part for controlling opening/closing of the plurality of open/close elements; a detection part for detecting a current flowing through a part to be driven or a voltage applied to the part to be driven; and a determination part for determining a failure in the plurality of open/close elements based on the current or voltage detected by the detection part when the control part controls the opening/closing of the plurality of open/close elements. The determination part determines the failure at a described determination timing before the part to be driven is driven.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
