Abstract:
The driving device (1) for a long object (2), such as a cable, comprises members (3) able to simultaneously separate or bring together two driving endless belts (11,12). The two endless belts are clamped onto the object regardless of its diameter and maintain the position of its longitudinal axis (20) constant. Adjustment of the space between the endless belts is obtained by a single handle (33). A spring absorbs any instantaneous variation of the transverse dimension of the object.
