Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drive device capable of remarkably reducing the power consumption, obtaining a high quality image without unevenness and a flicker in the image and reducing the cost and substrate area.
SOLUTION: When a common electrode is AC-driven to a reference potential, and a data electrode is driven inverting positive/negative polarity to the potential of the common electrode for an active matrix liquid crystal display body, the common electrode is separated from a common electrode drive circuit by a switch SWcom at the point of time changing the positive/negative polarity, and a specified gradation source line path LIVO is separated on the way by the switch SWvO. Further, the position a little to an output side from the part separated by the switch SWvO of the gradation source line path LIVO is connected to a terminal outputting the output voltage Vcom by the switch SWs. At this time, the drive device connects the data electrode with the common electrode through a turned on analog switch. etc., in the state separated from the outside power source, and charges charged on respective electrodes are neutralized.
